Customers want to see more tech in restaurants, research shows

A recent survey carried out by OpenTable showed that 43% of consumers were keen to see businesses adopt new technologies and over half of the UK is expecting to see restaurants introduce new technology to booking and ordering system over the next 12 months.

The survey showed that Millennials and Gen Z (53%) are most keen to see new technology adopted, whilst the over 65’s *(27%) were most reluctant to experience or adopt new technology, clearly demonstrating the adoption of technology in hospitality is split between generations.

Restaurants have already begun to introduce QR Code menus and table ordering but is still seen as a ‘nice to have’ feature by many businesses but the generational shift is changing this to a ‘need to have’ to keep and attract new, more tech focused customers.

App4 provides a complete ordering solution for the hospitably sector including QR Code ordering, integrated Epos, kitchen printing & display screens, centralised order management and delivery partner integration.
